I’m sure you want more free time for yourself. More free time to spend with your friends and family, more free time to enjoy your favourite hobbies. Perhaps more time to spend relaxing at the beach, or lounging at home in your comfortable chair enjoying the Singapore weather, or enjoying a movie, because I know Singapore has some nice cinemas.
I am about to tell you how to achieve reading speeds that are so fast, you can cut down the time you currently take to read a book BY HALF. Now think about it…wouldn’t that be a real time-saver? By cutting down your reading time, you gain SO MUCH more free time. Free time that you can use to….
My cousin Gabbie was constantly overworked. By just applying two of my speed reading techniques, I was able to help her gain back the time that she was losing to reading newspapers, trade journals, and magazines. She was amazed at the speed that she could read through the material, and still REMEMBER all the important points. Not only did she read faster, she read better!
Charles was a friend of a friend that got recommended to my book, and he was skeptical at first, because he couldn’t believe that his reading speed could really improve by so much. When he did try, he was so impressed that he left me a testimonial! Since then, Charles has been promoted, feeling less tense, and looks more cheerful. All that, just from having more free time!
Actually, one of the reasons why I became the speed reader that I am now is because I just simply had no choice. I HAD TO. You don’t know me, but if you do, you’ll know that I don’t have much time to do anything. If you’ve seen my workload and the things that I occupy myself with, then it becomes clear. I am a workaholic. Sometimes I take on work from my friends. Sometimes my "friends" take advantage of my character and actually just leave their work for me, knowing that I would complete it for them. That’s why I always get flustered and annoyed. Time just didn’t seem to be on my side.
For 4 whole years I suffered like this, until I knew I had to do something. That marked my journey to become the expert speed reader that I am. And that led me to become such a good reader that reports, textbooks, journals, and other material would just vanish within minutes, and I would have all the points that they were talking about, freshly imprinted in my mind! It was then that I suddenly became more relieved….deadlines didn’t seem so imposing afterall. I used to be busy all the way up to exams, but with my new speed reading skills, I could finish reading my exam material within the day itself!
I thought I would give you my report and let you know how I’m progressing with your techniques. All I can say is WOW! After just applying one of your techniques, my reading style just feels completely overhauled. When I read, I’m now aware of what I’m doing, and I continually try to apply what you’ve shared in your book. I can’t wait to become an even better reader, as I’m sure I will – your book has definitely opened a new path for me!
The passage below is 470 words long. Just below this is a "Start" button and at the end, you’ll find a "Stop" button. To begin, press the "Start" button and begin reading at your NORMAL speed. When you get to the end, press the "Stop" button, and your reading speed will be automatically calculated for you.
There is simply too much information for us to process. With the advent of the Internet, there has suddenly been an influx of information – so much so that we cannot possibly hope to read everything available to us. Even if we skimmed through everything, it would not be possible.
Throw in other demands on our reading attention: reading novels at home or on the commute to work or school, academic reading in the form of textbooks and papers, the daily newspapers, business reading in the form of reports and analysis.
You can’t disagree that reading is an important part of our lives – the question now is, are you reading at a speed that’s optimal and efficient? If you’re taking 45 minutes to read the daily papers, it may be 30 minutes longer than someone who just takes 15 minutes.
And if you’re taking 8 hours to read a book, wouldn’t you be at a disadvantage as compared to someone who finishes the same book in 4 hours?
Think about it – if you double your reading speed, a book that takes you 10 hours to read in the past now only requires 5 hours. You can read two books in the same amount of time, or use the additional free time to concentrate on other areas of your life.
Therefore, the reasons to increase your reading speed are many. There are three possible ways to improve reading:
Firstly, going for speed reading courses and seminars. This method involves you searching for a reputable course taught by an experienced and approachable instructor. These speed reading courses typically involve taking reading tests and exercises throughout a one or two day period. Given the right atmosphere, it can be quite effective. However, the downsides are that you must find time out of your schedule to make your way down to the class. Also, you need to be disciplined enough to continue on your own, after the euphoria and enthusiasm given by the course fades quickly.
Secondly, people sometimes buy speed reading software. This alternative involves searching for good speed reading software. Ask around for reviews and recommendations, because such software need to implement good techniques, otherwise it may train you to read the wrong way.
